Survey Says!

images-11.jpeg

It was such a pleasure to read the responses to the survey and later share your feedback with the mien and mini team. We are so grateful and humbled by the generosity, warmth, and from some of you, much ‘love’ that was evident. We love you too xx

It’s certainly tough times. Below are some stats from the Survey.

  1. How would you feel about us re opening to do hair services in the coming weeks?

75 % approve

2. Will you book a service if we open?

65% yes

3.Would you be happy for both operators and guests to wear masks?

85% yes

4.Under what conditions would you feel safe to have your hair done in the salon?

I'm really not sure as i have a vulnerability. Masks and limited customers at any one time, may help but I would probably need to check with my GP first. I feel torn about this as i want to support you (and my hair looks yuk but hey no one can really see me in this state!) Hard call. hope you are all ok and staying safe.

Any condition that keeps both clients and staff safe. Miss your beautiful faces and excellent service!

Perhaps you could utilise the out door area for longer treatments?

I’m pretty relaxed. So long as there are physical distancing and hygiene rules in place and you aren’t putting the business or customers at risk of a fine. Have been a long time customer and want to be able to support the staff in these difficult times.

I would need to be assured the chairs are wiped down thoroughly with an antibacterial product after each use and that the gowns are single use only. Also would like to be in and out quickly - having short hair this is achievable for me. I would probably forgo hair drying. Obviously distancing rules would need to be applied apart from stylist doing my hair.

Masks -appropriate spacing - hand sanitiser at arrival, gloves

Any unwell hairdressers should be at work. Only having a maximum of 5 hairdressers in your bigger salon on at the same time. Don't have extra staff (hair washers, hand massages, spa and beauty staff) Only open for necessary hair and colours. The pampering services should Be restricted until concerning times have passed.

First off I gotta say that I love you guys with all my heart and will follow you on social media immediately. I think masks and frequent hand washing is a solid start, but also maybe taking temperatures of people as they enter and requesting that the only people who come in have been isolated for at least 3 days prior to coming as it takes about 3 days minimum for symptoms to show up.

Masks, gloves, temperature checks, door handles and surfaces wiped each half hour

I came in just before lock down (for a tidy!) and social distancing was already evident, respected and pretty great. That would do it for me. Plenty of available hand sanitisers and happy to wear a mask! :)

Just make it as quick as possible, I could wash my own hair at home and come in with wet hair and I can dryly it off myself at home to save time, bit of distance between clients

I think it’s really up to you and the team - whether you are confident you can work safely and your team feel comfortable working - would hate to feel like the person is worried or stressed by working

I wouldn’t in the current environment

5. If you want to avoid physical contact with your hairdresser during the Covid-19 period, what on-line services would you like us to offer e.g. hair or beauty tutorials, on-line consultations etc?

Being able to order your colour and online consultations about the application.

Trimming your own fringe; styling techniques for naturally curly hair

Hair cut tutorial would be good.

Maybe a hair cutting tutorial - how to cut kid's hair

I guess how to maintain our hair in between long delays of cuts. Especially curly hair that tends to frizz

I’d love online tutorials such as how to do a scalp massage. I’d love to be able to buy the salon Olaplex treatment to do at home if that’s possible and a tutorial on that.

On-line consults but affordable please!!

I don't want to cut my own hair! I know it would be a disaster!

Tutorials for curling with wand and complicated updo’s

Tutorials on how to disguise terrible roots and a grown out fringe!

Wouldn’t like to undo all the good work already done on my hair by doing it myself.

Tutorials. Online consultations. Make sure they know exactly what kind of service we are wanting before we get in the salon so we aren’t messing around with chats and shit

6. Would you book a therapeutic or remedial massage if it were considered an essential service?

30% Yes

7. For the last 3 weeks the Australian Hairdressing Council have been lobying to State and Federal Governments to act on a comlete shutdown of the hairdressing industry. Do you think this is appropriate and would you prefer to see a complete shutdown?

Good luck guys. Do what feels right. In a few months, people will be desperate to have their hair done and there will be less judgement.

I am not sure of number 9 as I am unsure of the contagion "risks" in hair salons. I implicitly trust Mien. I have been going there for many years and their care of clients and staff is obvious. A few year ago my long term hairdresser who had left Mien, had a horrific car accident. The staff supported him.

Many businesses are having to think outside the box during these uncertain times. I would love to see a similar service offered

I am angered at the government that they have put you in this position- where you have to choose between your staff & client health, and your viability. If the industry was shut down perhaps more support such as the JobKeeper program and other programs would be available to you. I don't envy your position, and would love to support you in any way I can that doesn't put our health at risk.

You’ll be damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Do what you need to and if you do open be responsible and strictly so

The shut down is mass hysteria, only vulnerable staff/customers should stay home. Don't destroy your business to appease an irrational mob.

Our state and our country are individual, we are not the same circumstances as other countries. decisions about our safety should involve robust debate and inquiry based on rational thinking, not hysteria and fear. We have the capacity to deal with circumstances as they evolve and respond accordingly.

Thanks for considering our opinions.
